The Importance of Prayer

Praying is probably the most important part of preparation,yet so many of us today ignore or forget this vital part of the process.Jesus said,"Apart from me you can do nothing," and I believe Him.
The Bible says that we should acknowledge Him in all our ways and He will direct our steps and make them sure(Proverbs 3:6)It is not enough to know that He is there.We must call on Him daily for His strength and guidance.When Jesus ascended into heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father,He sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper in life.He is always ready to get involved,provided we ask Him for His help.God enables us  to do things that will frequently surprise us if we take Him as our partner in our life.The Bible says to pray without ceasing.This does not mean we do nothing except pray all day,but it does make the point that prayer is one of the most important things we should ever do.Prayer opens the door for God to work in our lives,and the lives of our loved ones.Prayer makes tremendous power available(James 5:16).We should not allow our prayer life to reflect weeds of inconsistency or neglect.We can get confidence when we have the power of God's Holy Spirit working in our life.We should try and not live in weakness when power is just a prayer away.
