Jesus says we should love with our actions too.1John 3;18 says "Let us not love in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth."
One of the best ways to show people love is by sharing or giving .There are people hurting everywhere,the poor,sick,emotionally wounded and the lonely.A simple act of kindness,such as giving away a pair of earrings,a meal,or spending some time with someone in need can make an individual feel valued and loved.
We have been called by God to be blessed and be a blessing.Genesis 12:2 says,"I will make you a great nation;I will bless you and make your name great;And you shall be a blessing".The more we use our resources to be a blessing,the more God will bless us.
We should develop the fruit of love by practicing loving others(Galatians 5:22-23).God expressed it to us through His Son Jesus and is now calling us to continue this mission.1Corinthians 13;13"and now abide faith,hope,love,these three;but the greatest of these is love".
This holiday season,take it one day at a time.Look around and see how we can be a blessing to others.Remember God is the one who will do the work of renewing your thinking and give you the grace to walk with what you learn.All that is required of us is,to be willing to surrender ourselves to Him and follow His path.By loving others with our thoughts,actions and words we will soon discover that it not only blesses the receiver,but it also blesses the giver.
